UPDATE, 2:45 p.m. ET: The plane has crashed on the island of Jamaica, according to Jamaican officials. A Jamaican military spokesman says the U.S.-based plane went down about 14 miles northeast of Port Antonio.
A small U.S. plane that took off from Rochester, New York, is flying over the Caribbean Sea toward Jamaica after passing by its intended destination in Naples, Florida.
The pilots of the plane have reportedly not responded to attempts to get in contact with them. The windows of the aircraft are frosted, which could signify hypoxia, meaning the occupants are unconscious due to lack of oxygen. Read more...
