Our planet has over 1 billion girls, who face a number of opportunities and tragedies. Here's a video tribute to those 1 billion girls out there who've made this planet what it is.
FACT CHECK TIME!
We can't really fact-check the 10,000 dance moves, 50 million first loves, and 46 million breakups (lol), but we did check other facts, a couple of them pretty sad.
- There are, sadly, 14 million child brides around the world.
- A UNESCO fact sheet shows that 70 million girls are working and 65 million are out of school because of marriage.
- And, yikes, 150 million girls under 18 face sexual violence every year. This is not OK, and it's something we've got to stop once and for all.
- There have been a ton of Olympic gold medals from girls/women, well over 1,500!
