Vince Carter Injury: Updates on Grizzlies Forward's Foot and Return

Vince Carter hasn't been able to capture the same kind of form he enjoyed with the Dallas Mavericks last year. The Memphis Grizzlies guard suffered yet another setback in an already frustrating campaign.

The 38-year-old injured his left foot in the second quarter against the Denver Nuggets on Thursday night, per Kevin Lipe of the Memphis Flyer:

Ronald Tillery of The Commercial Appeal in Memphis reported that Carter needed help walking back to the locker room:

Tillery provided an update on what the next step for Carter will be:

Carter entered the game averaging 6.1 points a game on 33.6-percent shooting. Both numbers are well below his averages in 2013-14, and his struggles in part necessitated the midseason trade for Jeff Green.

Still, the veteran 2-guard is playing 16.8 minutes a night and helps to round out Memphis' bench.

Should Carter miss a lot of time, the Grizzlies wouldn't all of a sudden tumble down the standings in the Western Conference, but his absence would certainly be felt on the floor.
