The Miami Heat throttled the Dallas Mavericks offense in the first half Friday night in Miami, holding the Mavs to just 33 points through the opening 24 minutes.
But the second half was a different story. Dallas went on a 37-2 run in the third and fourth quarters to cruise for the 83-72 victory. Charlie Villanueva came off the bench for the Mavericks to lead all scorers with 20 points.
Miami center Hassan Whiteside had a monster of a game, with team-highs of 16 points and 24 rebounds, including a franchise-record 14 boards in the first quarter.
