9 outstanding TV performances SAG should have honored

SAG nominations are here, and as usual, the swatch of nominees didn't quite cover all the great performances on the small screen this year, which is not an unexpected problem in a time when people complain about there being too much good TV to watch.


But that said, it's hard to use the Too Much Greatness argument when seemingly the same shows and actors are honored every year. (Looking at you, Modern Family.)


In lieu of what we'll diplomatically call the old favorites, here's a few actors who should have snagged a nomination



Jon Hamm, Mad Men


We're running out of chances to acknowledge how great Hamm has been in this role, which, by design, isn't one that affords him many opportunities for the large, splashy moments that get awards attention. But it's time to get over that and give him a statue for his great individual achievement here. (He won a SAG with the ensemble twice before in 2009 and 2010.) Read more...
