The Authority's exile only lasted a few months.
After being banished following Team Cena's win at Survivor Series, Stephanie McMahon and Triple H made their triumphant return on Monday night's edition of Raw, per the WWE Universe:
With it being close to the new year and all, the two shared a celebratory drink after getting back into power:
John Cena was the only person who could reinstate The Authority, which was the stipulation of the Survivor Series main event. Seth Rollins finally goaded Cena into doing so, using Edge as a hostage:
While most fans will be happy to see The Authority back in terms of entertainment value, the execution of their return left a lot to be desired. Pro Wrestling Torch's Wade Keller found that the overwhelming feeling among WWE fans on social media was disappointment/anger.
Having The Authority come back so quickly somewhat undercuts the drama of that epic Survivor Series-style match in retrospect.
This also seemingly extinguishes the small sliver of hope that existed regarding Cena finally turning heel and bringing back The Authority of his own volition.
