It’ll be a somewhat unlikely pairing at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, New York, for the second women’s semifinal on Friday, and you can catch all the live action right here.
No. 1 seed Serena Williams knows a thing or two about winning on the hard courts of Flushing Meadows.
The 32-year-old legend is a five-time champion at the U.S. Open and the two-time defending champion, but she’s struggled this season in Grand Slam’s.
This is her deepest run in a Grand Slam in 2014, and she has yet to be truly tested.
No. 17 Ekaterina Makarova is just living the dream, and she comes into this match riding a huge wave of momentum.
The 26-year-old had never been past the quarterfinal in any Grand Slam prior to this year’s U.S. Open, and she took the hard road to this point.
Makarova had to get through the red hot No. 7 Eugenie Bouchard in the fourth round and then took out two-time U.S. Open finalist and No. 16 Victoria Azarenka in the quarters on Wednesday.
