Alibaba is nearing what may be the largest public offering from a tech company ever.
The Chinese ecommerce giant plans to price its IPO at $60-$66 a share, according to a new filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. At the high end of that price range, Alibaba would raise more than $21 billion from the public offering, setting a new record
Alibaba first filed IPO paperwork in early May to raise $1 billion in its IPO, a placeholder amount for the company to calculate registration fees
In the months leading up to the initial filing, reports suggested Alibaba's IPO would be one of, if not the, biggest IPOs ever.
