Alcatel Magic Cover May Be Coolest Smartphone Case Yet

BERLIN — Chinese manufacturer Alcatel OneTouch introduced its Hero 2 smartphone at the IFA 2014 tech conference in Berlin on Thursday, but its new line of accessories are some of the most fun and innovative we’ve seen in tech in awhile.

The sleek, 6-inch Hero 2 ($455) debuted alongside the Hero 8 tablet (no price just yet), with nearly identical specs as the smartphone. While the devices are pretty standard in the market right now — an octa-core processor, Android 4.4 "KitKat," an edge-to-edge HD display and gesture control — its accessory adds-ons are as unique as they come.
