Andre Drummond Records 100 Offensive and Defensive Rebounds in March

Detroit Pistons center Andre Drummond pulled down 122 defensive rebounds and 102 offensive rebounds during March, marking the first time since December 2013 that any player has reached 100 boards on both sides in the same month, per Elias Sports Bureau (via ESPN.com).

The feat was previously accomplished by Drummond himself, as no other player has reached both totals in the same month since Jayson Williams for the New Jersey Nets in January 1998.

Drummond posted similar rebounding numbers back in December 2013, finishing that month with 119 boards on defense and another 102 on offense.

The young center's recent 100-100 month looks somewhat more impressive, as Drummond averaged 16.1 points, 14.9 rebounds and 2.1 blocks in 15 March games, compared to 13.8 points, 13 rebounds and two blocks over 17 games in December 2013.

Still only 21 years old, the former No. 9 overall draft pick out of UConn is making a strong late charge in what has otherwise been a largely disappointing campaign.

While his averages in points, rebounds and blocks are all up a slight tick from last season, Drummond owns a career-worst .510 field-goal percentage, after posting a .623 mark in 2013-14.

He's a player with obvious strengths and weaknesses, as his top-notch offensive rebounding and pick-and-roll offense are countered by questionable defensive positioning and an underdeveloped post game.

Luckily for the Pistons, Drummond still has plenty of time to develop, and his athletic ability has never been an issue.
