The Kolkata Knight Riders made it three wins from four in the 2015 Indian Premier League, as they put an end to the Delhi Daredevils’ recent renaissance with a comfortable six-wicket victory.
The reigning champions put the hosts into bat and bowled excellently throughout the 20 overs, limiting the Daredevils to just 147 for eight. Umesh Yadav and Piyush Chawla starred with the ball for the Knight Riders, sharing four wickets between them.
Kolkata were always in control of the chase, thanks in the main to skipper Gautam Gambhir, who set the tone superbly at the top of the order. Eventually, the Knight Riders knocked off the runs required with 11 balls to spare in the match.
Here’s how this win for the champions affects the overall standings, along with a closer examination of how the action played out at Feroz Shah Kotla.
