The NBA Eastern Conference No. 1 seed Atlanta Hawks carried a halftime lead to a 99-92 victory Sunday in Game 1 of their opening-round series against the Brooklyn Nets, fending off a second-half rally by the visiting team.
Atlanta's Kyle Korver led all scorers with 21 points, including five three-pointers—as many as the entire Nets team combined. Joe Johnson, the former Hawks star, missed all six of his three-point attempts for Brooklyn but had a team-high 17 points on 6-of-17 shooting.
