There's something I want you to think about while you watch this video. Rather, there's something I want you to *not* think about. Don't think about whatever connection you think there is between health and weight. Because even if there *is* a connection, it's really none of our business how healthy or unhealthy other human beings are. So, just bear with me here, and for the next 5 minutes, while you watch this video, disregard the "but it's unhealthy" argument and just *think* about how fat people are treated every day of their lives.
Even if you go back to thinking fatness is unhealthy after the video ends, why do you think society feels OK being so mean to people it thinks are unhealthy? It makes no sense!
This video was created by Stuff Mom Never Told You. By the way, the Upworthy video she mentions around the 5-minute mark is this one featuring the incredibly talented Meghan Tonjes. If you're curious to learn more about why being fat isn't unhealthy (and why it's OK to be fat and unhealthy too!), I recommend reading "Lessons from the Fat-O-Sphere" and "Health at Every Size." Both books were incredibly eye-opening.
