Thomas Muller Injury: Updates on Germany Star's Head and Return

A frustrating day for Germany took a turn for the worse when Thomas Muller suffered a gruesome head injury late into his team's 2-2 draw against Ghana.

The Bayern Munich midfielder went up to contest a header with defender John Boye and ended up taking a shoulder to the face. You can see the incident below, per Bleacher Report UK:

As a result, Muller's face became the proverbial crimson mask, per World Soccer Talk:

At the time of writing, the severity of the injury was unknown.

Muller will have five days to recover before Germany take on the United States in their final match of the group stage. Having taken only a point off Ghana, getting a result against the U.S. may be a necessity for Die Mannschaft .

The Bayern star has become one of Joachim Low's most indispensable stars in the attack. He assisted Mario Gotze for Germany's opener against the Black Stars and registered a hat-trick in the 4-0 thrashing of Portugal.

Low will need Muller back on the pitch in order to put Germany in the best position to qualify for the knockout stages.
