Rosie Holtom is a volunteer at a homeless shelter and a photographer. She decided to take shots of some of the homeless people she knew that would present them to the world as they actually are rather than how people think they are when they imagine the homeless. The results are startling, and beautiful, and a wonderful example of the concept of how we tend to look at people and things through a certain "lens." Bravo!

I found this set on My Modern Met. Rosie can be found on her website and on Flickr. If you'd like to donate to the homeless shelter where she volunteers and where she took these photos, you can do so at its website. Thumbnail image via Thinkstock. And if you like this, please pass it around. Or not; totally your call.
