USC Women's Tennis Team Accidentally Smashes Pac-12 Championship Trophy

The USC women's tennis team clinched the Pac-12 championship and celebrated so hard it broke the trophy.

Not exactly the way you want to commemorate a season's worth of work.

But don't worry, Trojans—you're not the only ones to scratch up (or shatter) some hardware.

Sergio Ramos dropped Real Madrid's trophy during a parade following the team's 2011 Spanish Cup victory. Then the bus he was standing atop ran it over:

Alabama has dropped some expensive gear too. The Coaches' Trophy from the team's 2011-12 season shattered just a few months after the national championship game when a player's father accidentally knocked it off its podium.

There was also the time Michael Ryder dropped the Stanley Cup:

Was it the wind? You decide.

Finally, there was the incident at Florida, which might just take the cake on broken trophies.

Billy Donovan dropped Florida's national championship trophy at the university's Midnight Madness in 2006, shattering the crystal replica in a well-played joke:

Fortunately, memories can't be shattered. Neither can this photo of the Trojans with the trophy before it was smashed:
