Mississippi State Baseball Warm-Ups Feature Offensive Message for Ole Miss

Mississippi State's baseball team unveiled warm-ups designed by Adidas on Thursday, but as Michael Bonner of The Clarion-Ledger reported, the "Viva Starkvegas" outfits feature an explicit message.

"Hail State" and "Left Field Lounge" are written in dotted neon lines—and so is "F--k the school up north":

So much for subtlety.

Athletic director Scott Stricklin was not amused with the design. He apologized for the "inappropriate phrase" in a series of tweets shortly after the uniform's reveal:

Adidas also apologized, accepting full responsibility for the design in a statement to The Clarion-Ledger:

We apologize to Mississippi State, their student-athletes, fans and alumni for this error. The Bulldogs' baselayer graphic today featured old artwork that was never presented to the university. This graphic does not reflect our brand values nor those of Mississippi State. We take full responsibility for this error and wish Mississippi State the best of luck during Super Bulldog Weekend.

The fact that the design was "old artwork" is a pretty clear indication this wasn't an accident. Someone somewhere along the line wanted this to go through.

According to Bonner, the warm-ups were one of 17 uniforms designed by Adidas for Mississippi State this season and came with matching cleats, spandex sleeves and leggings:

Too bad they'll never see the field.
