Little has gone right for the Miami Heat this year. They are seven games under .500 entering Friday night and have gone 4-6 in their last 10 games.
The Heat's fortunes continued trending downward against the San Antonio Spurs. Miami announced Udonis Haslem injured his left wrist in the first half:
It added that X-rays on the wrist were negative:
For Haslem, it's more frustration in what's shaping up to be the worst year of his career. He's averaging 3.3 points and 3.5 rebounds in 13.5 minutes on the floor. According to ESPN.com, the 34-year-old is 153rd in the Eastern Conference in Value Added.
Although it's doubtful his absence will have a demonstrable impact on the Heat's on-court performance, the timing of his injury couldn't be much worse:
Miami is looking for whatever edge it can get to rise back up the standings in the Eastern Conference.
Replacing Haslem will add another headache for head coach Erik Spoelstra.
