Uber riders score Starwood points with new deal

Uber riders who stay at Starwood Hotel properties are in luck.


The fast-growing ridesharing startup announced on Wednesday a partnership with Starwood Hotels and Resorts that rewards members of the hotel chain's Preferred Guest program with points for every dollar spent riding with Uber. Starwood currently operates 1,200 properties including brands such as Sheraton, Westin, and the W, across 100 countries.



"We’re always looking for ways to make [Uber] dramatically better, and travel rewards program was really a natural fit," Jonathan DiOrio, Uber's head of travel partnerships, told Mashable. "So the idea that Uber riders can get more value is very much in line with that initiative." Read more...
