Jermaine Kearse Catch: Twitter Reacts to Insane Grab in Super Bowl 2015

Although the New England Patriots got the last laugh, Jermaine Kearse etched his name into Super Bowl lore with an incredible catch late in the fourth quarter that set up the Seattle Seahawks for a potential game-winning score.

Kearse did his best David Tyree impression, hauling in a 33-yard pass that was deflected by Patriots cornerback Malcolm Butler. That set the Seahawks up with a 1st-and-goal at the 5-yard line.

NFL on CBS bemoaned New England's rotten luck when it came to miracle receptions:

ESPN.com's Dave McMenamin is already workshopping potential names for the catch:

Indianapolis Colts punter Pat McAfee noted that Kearse is probably set for life after this:

Tom Brady spoke about the moment after the game, per CBSSports.com's Will Brinson:

Sports Illustrated's Richard Deitsch complimented the NBC broadcast for having so many different camera angles to capture the moment:

An interception by Butler on the goal line two players later completely nullified Kearse's catch. The turnover all but sealed the Patriots' triumph. Between his involvement in Kearse's catch and then subsequent pick, it was a furious few plays for the defensive back:

The Patriots' win will take some of the gloss off of Kearse's unbelievable play, without a doubt.

It's a bit of a shame, but perhaps the 24-year-old will have another chance to make Super Bowl history again, next time in a winning effort.
