Crypt of the Necrodancer doesn't just want you to slash enemies and loot their bodies. No, you need to have a sense of rhythm if you want to get anywhere in this game.


Everything in Necrodancer, which may have one of the best names in gaming, happens on the beat, so you can only explore further if you tap, tap, tap along with the beating heart metronome at the bottom of the screen. That means the dungeon's multitude of monsters are also bound by the same tempo.
