A California sheriff says he has opened an investigation into a video that shows his deputies beating a man in the desert.
The video, a copy of which we've embedded below, shows the arrest of Francis Jared Pusok, a 30-year-old man who was sought by police after he allegedly stole a horse
He led authorities on a high-speed chase through the desert in San Bernardino County, pursued by patrol cars, helicopters and off-road vehicles, before he was thrown from his horse and tased.
While he lay prostrate on the desert floor, however, two deputies descended on the man and began delivering a series of blows to his head and body, as NBC Los Angeles' NewsChopper4 hovered above. Read more...
