This countertop turns your boring kitchen into a high-tech playground

Consumers spend so much money outfitting their kitchens with appliances, but there's only so much they can do — sure, a blender or crockpot helps you cook meals, but it doesn't learn your preferences or offer up recipe suggestions.


While the Internet of Things will eventually get us to that point, a new device called Countertop ($199.95) by Orange Chef aims to make the kitchen much smarter without replacing any of the appliances you already own. The gadget works with Crockpot slowcookers, Vitamix blenders, fitness trackers like Jawbone UP and platforms like Apple Health to essentially help users decide what to eat. Read more...
