Netflix just keeps on growing, in everything but revenue
The streaming video service topped 62 million subscribers in the first quarter of 2015 after surprisingly strong growth from the U.S.
Netflix added 2.6 million international subscribers in the quarter, which doesn't come as a huge surprise since the company has been aggressively pursuing new viewers in the rest of the world. The unexpected number is the 2.3 million U.S. subscribers it added
Still, the company's financial performance was weaker than analysts expected. Netflix missed sorely on earnings expectations, logging only $0.38 per share in profits on $1.4 billion in revenue. Analysts expected earnings of $0.63 per share on revenue of $1.6 billion. Read more...
