Moving time-lapse video pays tribute to victims of South Korean ferry disaster

A year after the South Korean ferry disaster left 304 passengers dead or missing, one artist is honoring the victims with a time-lapse tribute.


In this stunning and altogether heartbreaking time-lapse video, an artist on YouTube created photorealistic illustrations of a girl who died aboard the Sewol ferry last year. The video shows drawings of the girl at different points in her life, as she grows up. At the end, she is drawn wearing an orange life jacket, signifying that the accident took place.


The ferry capsized on April 16, 2014, killing hundreds of people, many of whom were high school students like the girl in the video. Read more...
