Manchester United had to finish Sunday's Manchester derby with just 10 men after Michael Carrick was forced to withdraw late on after manager Louis van Gaal had used all his substitutes.
According to the club's official Twitter account, Carrick headed straight for the dressing room with his side leading 4-1 at the time:
Not long after the England midfielder made his way down the tunnel, Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero capitalised on the one-man advantage to score his second of the game before the derby ended 4-2 in United's favour.
Van Gaal is just getting accustomed to having a full squad of players at his disposal and will be eager not to lose Carrick to injury, having seen his metronomic veteran control the tempo for much of Sunday's triumph.
