LeBron James Records 1st Triple-Double of Season vs. Bulls: Highlights, Reaction

LeBron James recorded his first triple-double of the 2014-15 season in the Cleveland Cavaliers' 99-94 victory over the Chicago Bulls on Sunday at Quicken Loans Arena.

The Cavaliers official Twitter feed posted James' final stat line of 20 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists:

CBS Cleveland's Daryl Ruiter added more context to James' standout performance, which featured 8-of-17 shooting from the floor:

James made it look easy en route to achieving the coveted individual trifecta, but he had plenty of help from his teammates, particularly his backcourt.

Kyrie Irving led all scorers with 27 points, while J.R. Smith had 24 on eight three-point field goals. Their scorching form from the perimeter opened up the offense and allowed James to be a stellar distributor.

As well as James did to hit the boards and dish out dimes, The King also had his fair share of highlight-reel finishes at the bucket. The following slam provided momentum for the Cavs' victorious cause:

ESPN's Dave McMenamin noticed how James seemed keen on elevating his game, since he's still got a chance at winning the NBA MVP award:

Even facing a stout Chicago defense, James managed to pick it apart with the help of the best supporting cast he's ever had in Cleveland.

Such a high level of offensive execution is a trend that's been building prior to Sunday's contest, per ESPN Stats & Info:

A few desperation shots—first- and second-quarter buzzer beaters by Irving and Smith, along with a half-court heave from Irving later in the game—helped the Cavs on Sunday. Those fortunate, low-percentage buckets proved pivotal to the outcome.

But considering these are the No. 2 and 3 playoff seeds in the Eastern Conference, respectively, Cleveland appeared to have a huge edge. James has been instrumental in helping along the Cavs' chemistry, something that's pushed them to a magnificent run following a tough 19-20 start.

If Cleveland keeps playing like this and James is able to get everyone involved, there's no telling how deep the Cavs can go in the postseason. They certainly have the looks of a top favorite in the East.
