The desktop version of Apple's new Photos app has finally arrived. It rolled out Wednesday with Apple's latest update to OS X Yosemite, following an extended beta.
The company first revealed its new Photos app last year during WWDC. A preview version of Photos had been available to developers since February, but Wednesday's Yosemite update marked the long-awaited app's official launch.
Photos is meant to replace both of Apple's previous photo apps, Aperture and iPhoto, as a one-stop shop for image management and editing.
