LONDON — Vinyl's strong comeback has been discussed for some time now. Stories of encouraging growth from both sides of the Atlantic bookended 2014, with reports of giant jumps in sales in both the U.S. and UK.


Vinyl sales in the UK passed the 1 million mark for the first time in 18 years in November, and the first quarter of 2015 saw another leap of 74% on the previous year.



The UK album market has grown almost 800% in the last five years, jumping from £3.3 million in 2009 to £25.9 million in 2014, according to reports. The format is so popular that The Guardian journalist John Harris has questioned if Europe's ageing manufacturing plants will be able to cope with demand. Read more...
