Suspect captured after chase filled with collisions, carjackings grips L.A.

LOS ANGELES — One man's attempt to elude police at any cost ended with him being shot and captured Monday in one of the most harrowing L.A. police pursuits ever caught on camera

Footage from the local CBS affiliate shows the man, unidentified as of Monday evening, lead police in a chase that caused multiple collisions and involved as many as two carjackings

According to reports, the pursuit began in Downtown Los Angeles around 5 p.m. after police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle and ended in Montebello, in the eastern part of the city.
