Chris Jones, who was dismissed from the University of Louisville basketball program on Sunday, reportedly has a warrant out for his arrest on charges of rape and sodomy.
Andrew Wolfson of The Courier-Journal reports the alleged sexual assaults occurred Saturday night involving women ages 19 and 20. It's noted the former Cardinals guard is "expected to surrender" for a court appearance:
The warrant says that one of the women was hospitalized Sunday and able to identify Jones as her assailant. One of the women is 19 and the other 20, according to the warrant.
Jones, who was dismissed from the team Sunday, is expected to surrender in court on Thursday morning.
Jeff Goodman of ESPN previously reported Jones had sent a threatening text message to a female acquaintance in the weeks leading up to his removal from the team after she "messed up" his room. The Courier-Journal report states she's not one of the women involved in the case.
Goodman also provided comments from head coach Rick Pitino about Jones' exit after a prior suspension had just ended.
"Unfortunately, we've got to move on. They're like your children. You don't like to see anybody be hurt," Pitino said. "But there's also accountability and doing the right things. He didn't. He didn't. Now he's got to get his life together, get on with life.''
The Courier-Journal notes the arrest warrant was signed by Jefferson District Judge Katie King and received by University of Louisville police. Lt. John Tarter from the department said Jones was a flight risk.
No further details about the alleged incidents were included in the initial report.
