LONDON — Professor Stephen Hawking is warning that artificial intelligence could end mankind as we know it.
In an interview with the BBC on Tuesday, he admitted his fears about the consequences of future creations, which could match or surpass humans' current abilities.
"The development of full artificial intelligence could spell the end of the human race," Hawking said.
The theoretical physicist, who has amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), uses A.I. to communicate.
