New York and San Francisco coalitions team up against Airbnb

Share Better, an anti-Airbnb coalition in New York City comprised of elected officials, affordable housing advocates and community organizations, announced Thursday it is expanding to San Francisco.


It's more of a partnership than an expansion, though. A campaign organized to support a November 2015 ballot measure regulating short-term residential rentals, "San Franciscans for Neighborhoods, Affordable Housing & Jobs," will change its name to Share Better SF.



Both groups, now with one name, are part of the effort to address issues with the growing short-term rental market, most notably Airbnb. Share Better organizers say they are talking with other cities and could be expanding further next year. Read more...
