Chicago White Sox first baseman Paul Konerko played the final game of his 18-year career on Sunday. During it, the 38-year-old found a cool way to give a shoutout to his family.
Konerko made sure that his family was with him in his last game by writing the names—or initials—of his wife and kids in the infield dirt at his position.
In his final game, Konerko received a standing ovation from White Sox fans in his first at-bat of the game and as he left the field for the final time.
Konerko played 16 seasons with the White Sox.
