The police officer who pointed a rifle at Ferguson demonstrators last week and said he would kill them resigned on Thursday.
Lt. Ray Albers, who had worked for the nearby St. Ann police department for 20 years, resigned after the city's board of police recommended that he be fired if he didn't leave on his own, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports
Albers was suspended a day after he was caught on video threatening protesters and media on Aug. 19. The video drew national attention, and viewers knew Albers' new profanity-laced "nickname" before they learned his real name. Read more...
