Doctor Who fans, the wait is ... um, clearer. The long-running science fiction show returns to TV this August, according to a teaser video from BBC America that posted to YouTube on Friday.
The video is almost comically sparse, even for a teaser. All it shows is the silhouette of a person who is obviously Peter Capaldi, the actor who took over the role of the Doctor from Matt Smith in last year's Christmas special. The accompanying text only says, "The new Doctor lands this August."
That's at least a little information, and now fans of the show know exactly how long they have to wait to see how Capaldi does in the role. His casting marks a huge departure from Smith, who is about 25 years younger than him. At least showrunner Steven Moffat and costar Jenna Coleman are sticking around, so there will be some consistency in storytelling. Read more...
