LeVar Burton Needs $1 Million to Revive 'Reading Rainbow'

"I'll see you next time," LeVar Burton promised at the end of every Reading Rainbow episode. Now, he needs your help to ensure there will be a next time for a new generation of children.

Burton, the creator and host of PBS' series Reading Rainbow from 1983 to 2006, launched a Kickstarter campaign on Wednesday to raise $1 million to bring back the cult favorite. If successful, this project will build a web-based version for families at home, create a classroom version for teachers and provide free access to it for underfunded schools.
