New 'CSI: Cyber' episode tackles ride-sharing apps

Just weeks after Uber had a data breach that compromised the personal information of thousands of its drivers, CSI: Cyber will explore what else could happen should ride-sharing apps fail to properly protect their systems — with a CSI twist, of course

"We're not trying to say the services are dangerous; we're just dreaming up the possibilities of what can happen in the criminal world," executive producer Pam Veasey told Mashable of the episode, which airs Wednesday. "We investigate to what extent do companies know their drivers, to what extent do you trust strangers, to what extent can someone intrude on the system of those apps and make things happen to their advantage."
