The final piece to the WWE 2K15 DLC puzzle has arrived. The Path of the Warrior storyline is now available for download as part of the 2K Showcase mode in WWE 2K15 on Sony PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
It's free to those who subscribe to the 2K Showcase Season Pass, but it costs $9.99 to everyone else. POTW is based on the most iconic matches from the career of the late legendary WWE Superstar, The Ultimate Warrior.
Playing as the Warrior, gamers will have an opportunity to take on other legends of the WWE such as Hulk Hogan, Rick Rude and one of the most recent Hall of Fame inductees, Randy "Macho Man" Savage. As has been the case with all of the previous 2K Showcase DLC , non-playable and playable Superstars and legends, as well as historic venues, are unlockable as you play through the mode.
Per a press release provided to Bleacher Report, here's a breakdown of all the content that can be unlocked in POTW :
- Playable WWE Hall of Famers: Ultimate Warrior (1989-1996), Hulk Hogan (1990), Andre the Giant (1988) and Sgt. Slaughter (1991);
- Playable WWE Legends: Honky Tonk Man (1988), Rick Rude (1990), Randy “Macho Man” Savage (1991) and Colonel Mustafa (1991);
- Playable WWE Superstars: Undertaker (1991) and Hunter Hearst Helmsley (1996);
- Access to WWE Hall of Fame ring announcer Howard Finkel and WWE managers Jimmy Hart, Bobby Heenan , Paul Bearer, Sherri, Sid Justice and General Adnan ;
- Playable arenas: WrestleMania VI, VII and XII; SummerSlam (1988, 1990 and 1991); Saturday Night’s Main Event® XXIV and Madison Square Garden.
The Superstars that are available in this DLC pack clearly carry the most clout of any set of unlockables from the previous add-ons. Including the Warrior, four current Hall of Famers can be added to the game, two future inductees in the Undertaker and Hunter Hearst Helmsley aka Triple H, and two Superstars who should be enshrined in the Honky Tonk Man and Rick Rude.
Triple H and a few others were already part of the roster, but the versions of their characters unlocked in POTW offer different attire and era-specific movesets.
By far, the biggest additions are the Warrior, Andre the Giant and Savage. With the Macho Man being enshrined in the Hall of Fame during WrestleMania weekend, the demand for one of the greatest of all time is at its peak.
Seeing how ATG is rendered in any game is always a treat. On the next-generation platforms, that concept is magnified.
As a larger-than-life character shrunk down to fit the video game, it'll be cool to dominate with The Eighth Wonder of the World. Obviously, the Warrior is the theme of the DLC and a Superstar with a dynamic presence. If you have 2K Season Pass or purchase POTW, it's time to shake the ropes.
