Analyzing Buccaneers' Best Trade Options with 1st Pick in NFL Draft

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are finally the center of attention in the NFL.

Unfortunately, there aren't anymore games left to play in the 2014 season.

The lone silver lining in its disappointing performance this past year, Tampa Bay currently owns the No. 1 overall pick after finishing the season 2-14 and securing the top selection over the Tennessee Titans due to strength of schedule.

Poor quarterback play was one of the largest contributing factors in the Bucs' struggles in 2014, leading most to believe they'll be targeting a new signal-caller at No. 1 overall as the future face of their franchise. It looks like a two-horse race between Florida State's Jameis Winston and Oregon's Marcus Mariota, with just as many arguments linking either of them to Tampa Bay's plans.

But for a team with so many holes throughout the roster, trading down could be the Bucs' best course of action. Stockpiling picks to help fill multiple starting spots and build quality depth could be just as useful—or more so, depending on who you ask—as handing a struggling team to a rookie quarterback.

It's not the most likely scenario thanks to the high price tag, but here are five potential trade partners that could make sense for the Bucs to move down from this year's top pick.
