In April 2001, Australia took on American Samoa in a World Cup qualifier in Coffs Harbour, New South Wales. What followed has found a place in the football history books.
They didn't score for 10 minutes, but then the Socceroos hit 31 goals without reply to rack up the biggest victory in international football history. Archie Thompson scored 13 goals, an international record, whilst David Zdrilic's eight strikes was the second-highest individual total in an international match since World War I.
Tonight, world champions Germany face international newcomers Gibraltar in a mismatch, which, whilst surely not quite up to that standard, will at least evoke memories of some of the most one-sided internationals ever.
The Gibraltarians have conceded 17 goals in their three Group D qualifiers so far, and in Nuremberg they'll come up against a German side desperate to make a point after a defeat in Poland and draw at home to the Republic of Ireland last time out.
Obviously Joachim Low's side will win this game, and the German media have challenged them to do so by a record margin, bettering the 16-0 victory over Russia 102 years ago at the 1912 Olympics in Stockholm.
With Gibraltar striker Kyle Casciaro admitting that the Germans "are going to score as many goals as they want," this certainly promises to be a strange evening.
