The race for the 2014-15 NBA Most Valuable Player award is the tightest we have seen in years. There are a handful of candidates everyone mentions when talking about the award, mainly Stephen Curry, James Harden, Russell Westbrook and LeBron James.
As deserving as each of those candidates may be, Los Angeles Lakers coach Byron Scott believes one player is being overlooked.
On Sunday, Scott joked about who he thought should be the league MVP, via ESPN's Baxter Holmes:
The 36-year-old Bryant has played in just 35 games this season, averaging 22.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 5.6 assists. Not only has Bryant not played much this season, but it's unlikely that any player on a 20-55 team would ever get serious consideration for MVP.
At this point in the Lakers' season, Scott might as well just make some jokes.
