WWE Extreme Rules 2015: Full Predictions for Each Champion at Event

The 2015 edition of WWE’s Extreme Rules pay-per-view has been built poorly, but there is still hope that the championship matches already booked for the show will help make this an exciting showcase.

While the tag team champions currently do not have a match, every other champion on the roster is engaged in a feud that will result in a match at the April PPV.

Here are the predictions for every champion currently booked at Extreme Rules.

Seth Rollins Will Defeat Randy Orton

The current WWE world heavyweight champion is Seth Rollins and he will take on Randy Orton in a match that features two stipulations; it will take place inside a steel cage and the RKO has been banned.

The two men put on an excellent in-ring showcase at WrestleMania, but the build to their rematch has not been great. From Kane being forced to take the loss for Rollins and Orton running through both Tyson Kidd and Cesaro, the booking decisions have been poor.

After such an exciting match to kick off the feud, expectations are high from wrestling fans for the in-ring performance, but there are concerns about how the match shakes out. Cage matches have a tendency of not being as entertaining as other bouts, and The Authority getting involved would make the stipulation moot.

Rollins must retain the world title in his first defense, but the WWE must be careful not to have too much interference in the match. This matchup has the chance to become too over-the-top, but Rollins simply winning by disqualification when Orton hits the RKO would be enough to tell an interesting story.

Daniel Bryan Will Defeat Bad News Barrett

Reports about the health of Intercontinental champion Daniel Bryan should have wrestling fans concerned, but if he is healthy enough to compete, there is no doubt that the fan favorite will be able to pull out the victory.

Bad News Barrett has been great recently, but the porous booking of his character has cut the legs out from underneath him. As much as the fans want him to succeed in the long run, taking the loss to Bryan seems like a foregone conclusion.

The hope is that the match at Extreme Rules will feature a rested Bryan getting back to the style that made him one of the most exciting wrestlers in the world. If he is close to 100 percent, this match could steal the show.

Rusev Will Defeat John Cena

The hope when John Cena won the United States Championship was that he would help bring credibility back to the title, and that’s exactly what he has done with his series of open challenges for the belt.

The series of exciting matches also plays perfectly into the storyline. Not only is this now a Russian chain match—something that implies Rusev is the favorite—but the constant matches are starting to wear down the champion.

With Rusev fully rested and healthy following a brutal loss at WrestleMania, the No. 1 contender should be able to capitalize on his advantages and take back the championship. Maybe Cena’s U.S. title t-shirt will be a collector’s item one day.

Nikki Bella Will Defeat Paige

If Paige is healthy enough to make it all the way to the Extreme Rules PPV, there is no way she will be victorious since she will be leaving soon to film a WWE film.

One intriguing possibility is the WWE throwing the fans a curveball by giving Naomi the title shot after she beat down the No. 1 contender. As much as the newly-heel Diva should steal the title and bring some credibility back to the gold, the stage is set for Nikki to retain.

The Bella Twins have added nothing to the championship scene over the last several months and it’s about time for a change. The majority of the WWE Universe doesn’t want Nikki as the Divas champion.
