Ring the alarm, Beyoncé fans. Your queen has been added to the performers lineup for the Aug. 24 MTV Video Music Awards, where the "Flawless" singer will also receive the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.
MTV, which announced the news Thursday morning, has only given the award to its namesake, Michael Jackson; Madonna; Peter Gabriel; R.E.M.; Beastie Boys; Red Hot Chili Peppers; Britney Spears; and Justin Timberlake, who last year memorably performed a medley of his hits and brought out his 'N Sync pals
Beyoncé has earned eight nominations for this year's MTV Video Music Awards, leading the pack with three videos that were released on the same day in December as part of her self-titled surprise album. Her videos for "Pretty" Hurts," "Partition" and "Drunk in Love" (featuring her husband Jay Z) all snagged nominations, with the latter vying for Video of the Year. Read more...
