In the summer, the New York City subway platforms are hot. And not just normal hot, but give-me-a-massage-and-cucumber-water hot.
On the plus side, the sweltering heat in the subway makes it the perfect place for a pop-up spa. The group Improv Everywhere (or should we say, "Improve" Everywhere) took the opportunity to turn the humid hell of the 34th Street Herald Square station into a luxurious paradise. Complete with lemon and lime-infused water, towel service, sauna benches, hot stone massage and a makeshift "steam room," the improv group turned the subway platform into a midscale spa.
