What's in a name? For the Edmund Pettus Bridge, it's a slew of racially charged history.

The bridge was the site of the historic march from Selma, Alabama to Montgomery, led by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and various civil rights activists. The march brought national attention to the violation of black voters in the Deep South, and brought about the Voting Rights Act of 1965
