Lopez Becomes 1st Net with 25 Points and 4 Blocks in Consecutive Games

Brooklyn Nets center Brook Lopez had 26 points and four blocks in Saturday's 123-111 win over the Indiana Pacers, making him the first player in franchise history to record 25 or more points and four or more blocks in back-to-back games, per Elias Sports Bureau (via ESPN.com).

New Orleans Pelicans forward Anthony Davis is the only other player to accomplish the feat this season, having done so on Jan. 14 and 21, with a three-game injury absence in between.

Lopez also added four rebounds and a turnover in Saturday's win, but it was the first of his two stat lines that really sticks out.

The 26-year-old center had 32 points, 18 rebounds, two assists, five blocks and just one turnover in 41 minutes during Friday's 129-127 triple-overtime win over the Milwaukee Bucks.

Lopez actually didn't need the overtime periods to reach 25 points or four blocks, as he sat exactly at those numbers at the end of regulation before adding seven points and a block during the three extra periods.

Following consecutive victories over Eastern Conference playoff contenders, the Nets will need another big outing from Lopez on Friday as they face a Boston Celtics team that is also competing for the final few playoff spots.

The Celtics are half a game behind the Charlotte Hornets for the No. 8 seed, with the Nets sitting just one game back. Thanks to the Milwaukee Bucks' ongoing six-game losing streak, there appear to be six teams competing for the final three spots, with the aforementioned squads joined by the Pacers and Miami Heat.

Looking at the bigger picture, Lopez can opt out of the final year of his contract after this season, and a strong individual finish would obviously increase his incentive to do so.
