Google Trekker expands to the midwest

Michigan is the first midwestern state to partner with Google for its Trekker program, going off the beaten path to bring amazing views to Street View.


More than 44,000 panoramic photos of the state's landmarks and natural treasures are now available, Michigan Lt. Governor Brian Calley announced Monday at the Michigan Tourism conference.



"Street View" is becoming a less and less appropriate name for Google's maps offerings, which include trail views and more from the Grand Canyon, Taj Mahal, Great Pyramids, Galapagos Islands and more. Read more...
