Tiger Woods Will Reportedly Open Restaurant in South Florida

While Tiger Woods is likely hungry to return to the golf course, he can satiate his appetite at the new restaurant he's opening in Jupiter, Florida.

According to Kristen M. Clark of The Palm Beach Post , The Woods Jupiter: Sports and Dining Club will be part of a $150 million complex in Jupiter. Woods and his developers haven't announced an official date for the restaurant's opening, but the expectation is that The Woods Jupiter will roll out the red carpet in early 2015.

"I envision a place where people can meet friends, watch sports on TV and enjoy a great meal," said Woods in a statement to the media. "I wanted to build it locally where I live and where it could help support the community."

He added that this project was a labor of love. For at least two years, he's attempted to get plans in place for a potential restaurant. All of the effort was worth it for Woods, who labeled The Woods Jupiter's Harbourside Place home "the perfect location."

GolfChannel.com's Ryan Lavner thinks that aside from entertaining the general public, The Woods Jupiter could become a regular stop for many PGA Tour pros during their treks to South Florida.

Jay Coffin of GolfChannel.com joked that The Woods Jupiter might not have the most hospitable atmosphere for members of the media, however. Woods hasn't had the best relationship with sportswriters in the past:

Woods has been out of action since August, when he announced that he would take a break from the sport for a few months to allow his back to heal. The Associated Press, via PGA.com, tracked each of Woods' ailments and showed for how long his back has been troubling him.

The 14-time major winner plans on coming back at his annual World Challenge event, which is scheduled for Dec. 4 through Dec. 7 at the Isleworth Country Club near Orlando.
