Travelling: Tips On What To Do Before, During And After

Travelling is more than simply sticking some clothes in a bag and booking a ticket (that’s running). Seasoned travelers will tell you that there is a process involved in getting ready for a trip, the actual trip and then the after. This post details some of the most important things you should consider when travelling.

Make a list

One of the first things to do when travelling is to make a list of all the stuff you intend to carry along with you. You should divide this list into the essentials and the luxury items. The essentials are the stuff you most definitely need on your trip, like meds, a pair of jeans, a camera etc. The luxury items on the other hand are things that you can actually do without. When it is time to actually pack the bag, the essentials will go in first and then if there is some space left, you can add the luxury stuff.

Book accommodation

Except you are going on a company trip or to visit your family and your accommodation is already being handled, you should ensure you book accommodation at your destination before you set off on your trip. And even if your accommodation is going to be handled by your hosts or your company, ensure you confirm it before you set out.

How much money will you need?

At this point, you should create another list (yup, it’s all about lists when planning a trip) of all the items you intend to spend money on during your trip. This could include miscellaneous stuff like taxi fares and waiter tips to gift items for those you are coming home to. By creating a list you can be sure of exactly how much you would need so you do not spend above your margin.

Logbook calculator

If after creating this list you find out the money you have saved away will not be able to cover the trip, do not despair, this does not mean you should cancel your trip. You can always take an excellent logbook loan which will cover the expenses of your trip and even leave you with more besides. A logbook loan taken against the registration documents of your vehicle, will give you the money you need to make your trip a memorable one. With our excellent logbook calculator you can determine exactly how much you will need for the trip and how long it will take you to pay back.

Make arrangements for pets or subscriptions

If you have a pet at home that you are not taking with you, you should make arrangements for a neighbor or a shelter to take care of your pet everyday you are gone. Also, if you have a subscription to a magazine, while you are absent, you should cancel the subscription. You can always resume the subscription when you return.

Change your money

After arriving your destination, you should ensure you change your currency to the currency acceptable at your destination. Our logbook loans can be given in cash or electronically with a transfer to your bank account, so you can make an arrangement with your bank to have the money wired electronically to an account in the country you are visiting, or you can change the cash at the airport directly. Our logbookcalculator will help you determine how much you will need for the trip so you do not over-extend yourself.

Buy gifts and souvenirs

What’s the point of travelling if you do not bring back souvenirs and gifts for those who did not go with you right? Ensure you bring back gifts on your way back from the trip. This does not mean you should spend too much during the trip. Take care to ensure you stay within your means. Our logbook calculator will help you determine how much you have to pay in repayments so you do not default and increase the interest.
